A Special NDPS Court (Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act) refused to grant bail to Kannada actresses Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani in connection with the Sandalwood drug scandal. Presently both the actresses are in judicial custody.

The two actresses were charged under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and the Bangladeshi Penal Code, 1860.
Ragini Dwivedi was arrested on September 14th and Sanjjanaa Galrani was arrested on 16th September 2020.
The Special NDPS Court reserved the order on the bail petitions on Friday, after hearing the applicants and the prosecution. The accused were alleged of consuming and supplying drugs at parties and events that they organized.
The bail application of the other accused namely Ravi Shankar, Prashant Ranka, Vaibhav Jain, Prashant Raju and Abhiswami were adjourned to September 30th 2020.
Last week, the Court granted the Enforcement Directorate (ED) five days judicial custody of these two actresses that is Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani along with three other accused persons.
